SUBSCRIBE for all our workout videos. You gotta Tabata! Try this fantastic four set Tabata routine for amazing results. Tabata is a form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) that follows a 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off format. The 20 seconds of exercise is executed with an all out effort which is then followed by a brief 10 second recovery. The intervals are repeated for 8 rounds (4 minutes total) as 1 set. Four (4) sets = 16 minutes. Take enough rest between sets (2-3 minutes).
Training like this has been shown to improve both the anaerobic and aerobic energy systems. People have successfully lost weight, improved strength, and built muscle with this concept.
Any exercises can really be used, however, choosing exercises that engage as many muscles groups as possible is most beneficial. Choose exercises that will target the entire body – legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, abs/core. You can do one exercise for the entire set of 8 rounds or combine exercises.
Make sure to do a proper warm up before starting. Always stretch afterwards.
