Joaquin Phoenix will play Napoleon Bonaparte in a new film made by renowned director Ridley Scott.
According to the Deadline, the film will be called Kitbag and will follow the complete life of Napoleon, covering his rise as emperor and his relationship with the first woman, Josefina de Beauharnais.
David Scarpa, the writer of The Day the Earth Stood Still and All the Money in the World (by Ridley Scott), will be responsible for Kitbag’s argument. The film will be distributed by Disney, through 20th Century Studios.
In this way, Kitbag will be the reunion between Phoenix, who won several awards for Best Actor in Joker (Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe and SAG Award), and Scott. The last work of the two was in 2000, in Gladiador, a film that won five Oscars.
