Ben Wheatley was going to make his debut in adapting video video games to the cinema with Tomb Raider 2, however ended up shifting away from the venture. But that does not cease him from dreaming of lastly making a film impressed by a gaming trade franchise.

“Video games and movies are so intertwined, aren’t they ?,” Wheatley began by saying. “And the things we think are original about video games come from the movies, regularly. I still want to make a Doom movie. I know it’s already been done, but come on. Or Counter-Strike, I would love to do this.”
Regarding Tomb Raider 2, the director says that the choice was made as a result of postponement of manufacturing as a result of pandemic and the chance he was given to make Meg 2.
Titled Meg 2: The Trench, it is a sequel to the 2018 film Meg: Giant Shark, starring Jason Statham. However, this nonetheless does not have a particular debut date.
