Seth Rogen’s TMNT Oreboot will try to enhance the characters’ adolescent element.
Pararmount and Nickelodeon announced that they would reboot Ninja Turtles with a CGI animated film produced by Rogen.
In a recent interview with Collider, the actor and director confirmed that the film will use the “adolescent” aspect as a “starting point”. He said the film will focus on that element, but that it will not disregard the part of the mutant ninja turtles.
“As a longtime fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, strangely it was always the” Teenage “part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that caught my attention the most, and being someone who loves teen films and made a lot of teen films, and that I literally started my profession by writing movies like that all the time, the idea of improving this element was something really exciting for us. ” said Rogen. “I mean, without disregarding the rest, but rather using it as a kind of starting point for the film.”
Rogen will produce the film with Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, alongside Nickelodeon Animation Studio. This will be the first CGI production for CG cinema at Nickelodeon’s studio. Paramount Pictures will be in charge of distributing the film.
This reboot will be directed by Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Connected, Disenchantment) and written by Brendan O’Brian (Neighbors, Sorority Rising, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates).
The film does not have a release date yet, but everything points out that it should be released sometime in 2021.
